EXPAND-Adding heat to matter causes particles/atoms to vibrate faster and spreads out

CONTRACT-The decrese in motion causes the particles to move closer together which takes up less space

TEMPERATURE-Measure the average motion of the particles in a substance

TQ: What are the three states of matter?

Solid
Solid for some reason is called ice. They loss energy because of how packed they are in the solid they have nowere to move.Definite shape and definite volume.
gas
when boiling gas is rising its turning into gas.No definite shape and
no definite volume
liquid
water is made up of tiny particles called atoms.
When hot water gets hotter and hotter it will expand.
TQ:What is matter?
STATES OF MATTER. matter is everything that takes up space and has wieght is matter. matter can be as small as a cell in your skin and as big as the galaxy. matter has atoms . And matter can change to one form to another. matter comes in states or phases like solid liquid and gas and plasma. Solid happens when atoms are tightly packed together.Liquid is water milk juice it dosent matter thay have atoms that arent tightly packed together it also takes the shape of the container you put it in. Now gas are spread out and bounce atoms in every type of air.Last plasma its hard to spot but it is a glow in a type of matter like stares.
